Dr. Neil Farber is a physician, researcher, wellness professional, and author. He is a member of the International Positive Psychology Association and national Wellness Committees. As the Founder and Chief Wellness Officer of Dynamic Health & Wellness, Dr. Farber is the creator of The Action Board and the Eight Key to Achieve Principles, the developer of the Inconspicuous Exercise (Incon-X) Program, and a regular contributor for Psychology Today’s Happiness Section.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Dr. Farber attended Arizona State University, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, with a BS degree in Psychology from the Honors College. As the recipient of a coveted Medical Scientist Training Program Award, Dr.Farber earned dual doctorate degrees in Pharmacology & Toxicology and Medicine. Dr. Farber is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, Pharmacology & Toxicology and Psychology. He has been a member or chairman of several committees on wellness and professional issues and given hundreds of lectures on many topics in several countries, including medical ethics, conflict management, goal setting, stress management and mindfulness. Dr. Farber has published over 150 scientific papers and developed well-known wellness tools like The Action Board and Incon-X. He is an author, certified life coach, personal trainer, and martial arts grandmaster. [More on Education].
Like most of us, Dr. Farber has had his fair share of physical and emotional challenges. He has overcome significant adversity including debilitating bouts of arthritis since childhood in addition to back and cervical (neck) spinal cord injuries, requiring surgeries and spinal cord rehabilitation twice. Although he was told more than once that he may be permanently disabled, he has been able to return to full and competitive physical activities. Dr. Farber has mastered the art of resilience by converting DISTRESS to EUSTRESS, allowing him to achieve goals and continue to strive with peak performance. [More on Overcoming Adversity].
Dr. Farber has been an advocate and devoted follower of the Positive Psychology movement since before it was a movement and integrates the principles of Positive Power into his daily life, seminars, and consulting. Dr. Farber believes in finding blessings in disguise, converting negatives into positives, the power of spirituality, the importance of mindfulness, the Eight Key to Achieve Principles, and the enlightenment that comes from taking personal responsibility. Dr. Farber has studied many martial arts and received Black belts and instructor certifications in several self-defense styles, including Taekwondo, Hapkido, Muay Thai, Krav Maga, and Kapap. He is a certified instructor in military combatives, police defensive tactics, and weaponry. Dr. Farber has received international recognition as a Grandmaster in Israeli Hisardut and Kavanah and was recently inducted into Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Honors. He has taught thousands of children, teens and adults, including the US Navy, Marines, and Police departments as well as the Israeli Army.
